My Super-Fantastic Steers
Hello There! Do you see that steer with the 519 ear tag? I named him Fluffy. He is a good pellet-eater. A pellet is something hard with grain, weed seed, molasses and vitamins in it. Mix it all together and you've got a pellet.
Fluffy's nickname is Fluff or Fluff Fluff.
I tried to hug his nose and I got slobber on my face!!!
Do you see that copper-colored steer? I named him Copper. Because he is Copper! He is so great but he won't eat out of my hand. Fluffy will eat out of my hand. Copper is scared and sometimes I think, "Scaredy cow!" I snuck and touched his hoof once and also his side; and he pulled back and snorted.

My Trip to Europe
I love Europe so much! I went to Paris, London, and St. Remy de Provence. We visited Vincent Van Gogh's hospital even though it was a little bit boring for little girls. But I did find snail shells in the garden at the hospital and I have them in my room on my shelf.
In this picture, I was at the Mediterranean Sea. I loved it! It was more interesting than Vincent Van Gogh's hospital.
I was at the Mas Shamrock (bed and breakfast) in St. Remy. You might think it's pronounced "Mass Shamrock"; but it's actually like "Moss Shomrock." French is kind of hard.

Mama Post: May Day
I thought everyone might enjoy seeing Carlyn and her cousins, Meagan and Kayla, who came to visit for Easter. I like this picture because the girls look like they should be in a shampoo advertisement.

The Mei Mei Post
I'm going to have a mei mei. Mei mei means little sister in Chinese. To get a baby from China, you have send in forms; you have to show pictures of yourselves and your house; and you sign forms saying you'll be good parents.
After that, you have wait and wait and wait and wait. We've waited about three years. When we go to China to pick her up we'll ride on a 747; I hope we go first class if we have enough frequent flier miles! In China I will get to visit the Summer Palace.

The Cyberchase Post
These pictures are from my favorite show, Cyberchase. It's about four members of the Cybersquad: three kids and a bird. Jackie is the one in yellow; Matt is the one with the backpack; and Inez is the one with the glasses. Inez doesn't like being called "Nezzie." The birdie is Digit.
They try to save Motherboard, the leader, from Hacker, a bad guy. Hacker wants to get rid of Motherboard and the Cybersquad always figures a way out of chaos. Hacker is mean; I do not like him at all. Once Hacker had a magical crown he stole from the King of Radopolis; Radopolis is a Cybersite. He lost all the Radopolis people's wheels on their skateboards and scooters and other things like that. But don't worry, the Cybersquad always figures a way out.
On the PBS kids website, you can play Cyberchase games. My mom will put the link in:
http://pbskids.org/cyberchase/index.html
Please watch Cyberchase.

The Creek Adventure
Today I went to the creek. I got to throw dead corn stalks in the creek. I got to cross part of the creek on a log. I got my socks wet and my toes were freezing. Mom's were, too.
We wanted to go across a different part of the creek, but we couldn't. I thought and thought and thought. I used my skills from Cyberchase, a PBS show. These are the steps, I said:
- 1. What is the problem we have to solve?
- 2. What is one way we could do it without getting wet even if we don't have the materials?"
- I thought, "Hey, what if we make a bridge out of stepping stones?"
And Mom said, "Sure." But we only got halfway across.
My mom said, "Come here." I got the giggles when she tried to put me on her back because I kept slipping back down onto the rock in the middle of the stream. Then I rode across the creek on my mom's back and the water was up to her calves. We saw a big grassy field on the other side; it was amazing. And then we went back.

Richmond News
I was in Richmond today and when I was at Starbuck's having my Frappaccino (even though I'm a little girl!) I heard people talking about trouble at Kroger. That's where my mom and I were going to go: to Kroger and Lowe's, but no one was allowed in that area. All I know is that it was on the news that there were police there and I saw a big gun - the kind of gun that's big and long and kind of skinny.
(Explanation from Mom: a disturbed person is currently in the Kroger parking lot with a firearm; the police secured the area although the man wasn't threatening to hurt anyone else. Traffic has been diverted and officers have been trying to talk the man into surrendering for over two hours. Carlyn felt that it was important to update her readers about this story. I was delayed this afternoon writing a letter for work; otherwise we would've been going to the Kroger Starbuck's to get our Frappaccino - possibly around the time the police locked it down).
p.s. from Carlyn: I wasn't that happy about what happened at Kroger.

My Google Analytics
Google Analytics is fun for me. Google Analytics tells me where the people who visit my blog are from. If a state is light green, it means at least one person from that state has visited. As you can see, Kentucky is dark green. That's because it has lots of visits.
I have visitors from New Zealand, Japan, and France.
I have nine states plus Washington, D.C. Maybe the President had time and he Googled "the Carlyn blog" to see if there was someone named Carlyn who owned the Carlynblog and, if there was someone, maybe they blogged about him. I hope he saw the post where I said I wanted to kiss him! I would kiss his 747 also!
I would like some new states.

Toulouse and Olaf: My Kitties
These cats are Toulouse on the left and Olaf on the right. Toulouse's nickname is Toulousie and Olaf's nickname is Ole. I love both of them. I sometimes speak baby-talk to them. I'm dictating this to my mom and I see Olaf right now.
Olaf was my guardcat when I was a baby. He slept outside my door whenever I was sleeping. So my mom brought his cat basket and put it by the door so he could be comfortable.
Toulouse was an indoor cat when he was a kitten. Now he only comes in during really chilly nights. My dad puts Toulouse in his office to stay warm. He became an outdoor cat because he didn't pee in his catbox, but guess where?!? By our front door! Where we come in! So we decided he had to be an outdoor cat.
But Olaf is an extremely good kitty. He was born in 1993. He will be sixteen in April.
I have Blacky Wacky and I like her, too. But we don't have a picture of her.
They're all very good kitties and I love all of them.

I love 747s!
I am interested in 747s because they are beautiful. A 747 is used for Air Force One, as you can see. They are used for trips like from Detroit to China or Detroit to Russia. Or maybe Borneo to Rarotonga.
I came home from China in one; I was in the UPPER DECK! If you're in first class in the upper deck in a 747, you get great service. You get snacks and drinks whenever you want. In coach class you can get pop whenever you want but snacks only when the flight attendant comes.
I think 747s are cute and I wish I knew how to draw a 747. If I could, I'd kiss one. I'd kiss the President, too!

My Friend, Scottie
The boy here is Scottie and he is nice. Very nice. In this picture, we were singing, "Born to be Wild," but we thought the song was, "Born to be Wide"! This picture was taken almost three years ago. I am six years old now and Scottie turned eight in November. I was born in China and he was born in Guatemala.
We are best friends. We like to swing, and play and get on the roof of my little play house. I like to play in his room, too.

Birds that I've Seen in the Winter in my Backyard
I have seen all of these birds in the backyard in the winter with my binoculars. We had an ice storm so the birds couldn't find food that easily. You know what we did for the poor birdies? We fed them. We had a birdfeeder where they landed on it and ate out of it. But it broke. So we bought a new feeder and filled it up and you know what? They ate all of the food in one day. We bought a special finch feeder. It's just for finches or other birds the same size as finches. We got a bird bell that they can sit on and eat. The bird bell is bird seed basically held together somehow. I don't know how.
The birds are all over the place in this blog post. I don't know why. But I hope you enjoy them anyway.
These birds are Goldfinch, Tufted Titmouse, Sparrow and Winter Wren
These birds are the Robin, Woodpecker, Bluejay, Cardinal and Mourning Dove.
These birds are the Black-capped Chickadee, Eastern Bluebird, and Mockingbird.
